CAA consulting on proposals to increase Charges Schemes

The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has launched a consultation on proposals to increase all Charges Schemes by 2.4% from April next year, due to ‘current cost pressures’. The CAA, which charges a fee for the issue, renewal, conversion or revalidation of a pilot licence or rating, says that it is looking to increase costs due to ‘significant financial pressures, with increases in our cost base as well as the need to make crucial investment in modernising our systems’. CAA issues updated safety notice on TB50 and TB55 batteries

An updated safety notice has been issued by the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA), lifting restrictions put in place following issues with some TB50 and TB55 batteries – as long as the drone operator can verify successful installation of DJI’s firmware workaround. The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has launched a consultation to find out how people are using drones. DJI issues firmware updates for TB50 and TB55 batteries

DJI has issued firmware updates for users of TB50 and TB55 batteries, after a small number had reported incorrect power levels. The updates will enhance the battery-management system and optimize power supply during flight. Pilots are encouraged to check their DJI Pilot app or DJI GO 4 app and update the firmware on their batteries as soon as possible.
